Perth based Caravanland has won Jayco's top dealer award for the 14th time. The dealership led by Paul Surtees is Jayco's 2007 Dealer of the Year.

Caravanning is the most affordable and best way to holiday and to see the country and everyone from the baby boomers to people in their twenties and thirties are buying caravans, he says.

Hello Sailor is Hobart's waterside welcome to caravanning in Australia

Hobart is the 'Hello Sailor' city. Australian marine history ties up at its docks. The fleet includes the oldest working sailing vessel in Australia the May-Queen. Innovation is everywhere.

Roger La Salle threw an innovation grenade question among Hobart caravanning conference delegates which brought positive reaction among trade delegates later.

The Kenawley Club impressed the hell out of Nagambie Leisure Park General Manager, David McIvor when they rolled up this month with a practical approach to using their caravans more.

The Around Australia caravan team are back where they started

A final dash across the Nullarbor in a pleasant 38 deg. Wind gusts to 100kph at Ceduna. Murphy's Haystacks are an Irish joke which led on to four nights in Port Lincoln and extended happy hours for the Around Oz team.

The Barossa is marked for a return visit. Mildura and Swan Hill made them welcome and Jo danced at the Star Hotel in Echuca. Albury, Canberra and back to happy Zak in Jindabyne.

Like a pilgrimage The National Folk Festival from March 20 to 24 in Canberra is like a coming home through all forms of music.

That is five days and four nights of some of the best music and best company that you have ever experienced.

Holdens well priced Captiva SUV diesel is light on fuel long on towing torque

We first saw the top of the range Holden Captiva Diesel at a New Zealand North Island dealership in Hamilton. The good pricing for what it offered drew us to it.

It replaces our V8 Statesman (RV). We are spoilt and wont go down market from Statesman comfort. Leather seating, sunroof, cruise and climate control are among essentials now.

But hi-tech up-to-date SUV AWD stuff and a fuel efficient diesel was high on the 'must-have' list too.

Around Australia caravan team catch up after Australia's wonders dropped them off the GoSee map

The Around Australia caravan team Ross and Jo Whitty, plus friends, make no excuses for dropping off the GoSee map.

After Coral Bay WA they have just been too busy enjoying this great land.

Now they are in Port Lincoln, in the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia where great fishing is fact not fable.

At 100,000 RVs Jayco cements place as biggest Australian builder

With 100,000 Recreational Vehicles now built and sold Jayco is now the biggest manufacturer in the history of the Australian Recreational Vehicle industry.

Jayco's 100,000th caravan was a Destiny pop-top.

It was bought by retired Telstra designer Garry Wright and his wife Dianne, of the outer south western Sydney suburb of Narellan.

GoSee quick-click TravelSmart Club nails need for pro-based caravan and camping info online

The huge band of Recreational Vehicle owners on both sides of the Tasman aren't a bunch of laid back dreamers.

So we laid on a GoSee reality check. For the first time on a public website caravan towing weight checks used by professionals are available online in Australia and New Zealand to GoSee TravelSmart Club Members.

We are unaware of any public online facility in the world which offers this service.

Top Tourist Parks leads caravanning industry as it trains top down to deliver better product

Top Tourist Parks CEO Bill Pycroft said a mouthful as he congratulated 23 Top Tourist Parks of Australia members who were awarded their Diploma in Caravan Park Management.

As usual Chairman Clive Johnson and his wife Margaret led from the front. They earned their Diploma of Caravan Park Management together.

Now Top Tourist is the industry leader through its studied commitment to training.

Vietnam Vet families play for the Pigs Arse at peaceful Glen Cromie Caravan Park

There must be something out of the ordinary about Gippsland's Glen Cromie Caravan Park Drouin.

After 12 years as regulars about 200 Vietnam Veterans and their families and friends will camp there again in November.

The Veterans involve the kids and play ridiculous games for the Pigs Arse Award. You would have to be a Vietnam Veteran to really understand, but for starters, the 7th Royal Australian Regiment's mascot is a pig.

It may be dry but there is no drought with things to do in Shepparton and Seymour

We are in Seymour today with two Coromal Excel caravans we are evaluating in tow and tonight we stay at a gem of a Top Tourist Park on the banks of the Goulburn River.

We stayed at Goulburn Valley Motor Village Shepparton last night on great drive-through sites. Then we went to KidsTown Adventure Playground after we learnt its just one of the attractions which link to Shepparton's Shared Path Network. Gee I wish I was a kid again!

Agnes and Nick find Marysville Caravan Park is a great getaway

We think that there is no such thing as bad weather - only the wrong clothes so despite a bleak forecast with strong winds and rain predicted we headed for Marysville.

Marysville Caravan Park is just around the corner from the main street and our warm, comfortable cabin was right next to the barbecue area. We spent the weekend browsing unusual shops.

Around Australia West Coasting caravans get into Bazza's Coral Bay Bash

The Whitty caravan Lap of Australia team are now West Coasting in WA. Broome is followed by Horizontal Falls, seaplane and wild boat rides, punctured tyres and a 21st wedding anniversary.

Hymer's Nova is not caravan camping its all home comforts

Brakes on hard, the steering wheel wound hard left, then right. We snaked down the isolated road as we set out to unsettle the Hymer Nova caravan behind us.

We pressed caravan and tow vehicle in areas we don't want you to try for yourself. And - the Hymer Nova caravan did better than the Toyota Sahara Land Cruiser towing it.

Leisurefest attracts younger Australians as they head for the outdoors

The Caravan and Camping Leisurefest at Sandown Racecourse in the Melbourne suburb of Springvale shows the extent of the massive growth in interest in getting out into the outdoors which is now a rite of passage with Australia's socially cashed up economic demographic - the extended family.

Day one and two attendance was significantly up and by day three Leisurefest crashed through previous records. Show Organiser Peter Wright says marketing aimed at the family brought a younger group of show goers.

The winners from record breaking RV & Camping Leisurefest prize draw

GoSeeAustralia staff were flat out for three days with our prizes give away at the Recreational Vehicle and Camping Leisurefest at Sandown Racecourse, Springvale, from Friday September 5 to Sunday October 7.

Winners were notified by email. The winners names were published in Melbourne Herald Sun Newspaper Public Notices on Friday 12th October 2007 and there is a full list with this feature.
